Citywide Strategic Plan: Our Issaquah
Our Voice, Our Vision, Our Future

Current Survey
The City recently completed a broad engagement process, where we heard from 1,300 people about their vision for our City! Based on this feedback, the City recently identified five draft priority topics for our future Citywide Strategic Plan, called Our Issaquah.

Are we on the right track? Please take this short survey, and join us for an open house June 20.

Issaquah is a vibrant, growing community that is uniquely positioned at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. While the Puget Sound region is experiencing tremendous growth and economic prosperity, Issaquah is in both an enviable and challenging position at the edge of the urban growth boundary. Our developing urbanism will bring us more opportunities for jobs, entertainment, recreation and services. However, we also face issues of access, affordability, mobility and stewardship.

To better address these and other challenges and opportunities, the City is embarking on an effort to form a citywide strategic plan to help focus our efforts and shape our future built upon our community’s vision and values.

Starting in March 2018, we started working on Our Issaquah, which will be completed in three phases.

Phase I: Who We Are (Current Phase)
Engaging with the community and assessing current conditions to develop our shared vision and values.

We heard from you! In April and May, 1,300 people responded via an online survey; community-led meetings; focus groups; and “pop-ups” at public events.

Following a workshop with community partners (read the background information online), the City recently identified five draft priority topics for our future strategic plan. Learn more via this report.

After this survey, the City Council will be reviewing the topics and community input in late June, including a Council Work Session on June 25.

Phase II: Where We Want to Go
Working through strategic priorities to establish specific goals and objectives.

Phase III: How We Will Get There
Planning how the City will implement its strategic priorities within City departments and the community.
