Issaquah takes climate change and the costs of energy use seriously. Our goal is to reduce our overall carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050.

Climate Control

From a risk standpoint, climate change is a significant security and social stability issue.

What is different about this threat, however, is that much of it stems from our own behavior. But that’s the good news — we can do something about it, because it’s directly in our control.

Energy Use

EnergyIssaquah's energy use and carbon emission sources are split almost equally between residential buildings, commercial buildings and vehicles.

For this reason, the Office of Sustainability concentrates on reducing the impacts of all three areas. Learn more about Salmon Friendly Trips, green building and saving energy.
