    The commission will hold a hearing on August 24, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 135 E. Sunset Way. The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on the proposed Issaquah Housing Strategy which is in response to the moratorium work plan item on Affordable Housing. The proposed Housing Strategy is an action plan envisioned to be completely implemented in 5 years and is focused on specific implementing actions that can be taken within the next 2 years to directly influence the evolution of the City over the next 10 -20 years. The proposed Housing Strategy may change as a result of the public review process.

    The Planning Policy Commission will hold a hearing on August 31, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 135 E. Sunset Way. The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on the proposed Central Issaquah Development and Design Standards amendments which are in response to the moratorium work plan item on architectural fit and urban design. These amendments include the potential incorporation of an Architectural and Urban Design Manual that will be used to review development projects in Central Issaquah as well as amending existing code to acknowledge incorporation of the manual. These proposed amendments may change as a result of the public review process.

    The Planning Policy Commission will hold a hearing on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 135 E. Sunset Way. The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on the proposed Issaquah Municipal Code amendment which is in response to the desire for more urban form and site layout for new and redeveloped public schools. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to require structured parking for a portion of the on-site parking requirement for public schools. This requirement ensures that public schools use land more efficiently, especially as available land becomes more scarce. The City has worked with the Issaquah School District to draft these proposed regulations to provide for the development of urban schools. Specific amendments include the following Issaquah Municipal Code section: IMC 18.07.480 Community facilities standards These proposed amendments may change as a result of the public review process.
