Curriculum
Concepts
The staff uses various methods to teach and expose the children to concepts including:
  • Language (ex: first and last, over and under, trace and copy)
  • Seasonal topics
  • Shapes and colors
  • Numbers and alphabet
  • Problem solving
  • Art expression

Methods
  • Activities and toys set up around the room for children to engage
  • Craft projects
  • Table Time, in which specific concepts are taught to the class as a whole
  • Circle Time, in which the children discuss the calendar, the weather and learn the Pledge of Allegiance
  • Walking field trips

Typical Daily Schedule
1 hour Children are free to choose activities set up around the classroom. Teachers work with children one-on-one or in a small group.
10 minutes Clean-up Time
20 minutes Circle Time
15 minutes  Snack, Silent Reading
15 minutes Recess
15 minutes  Table Time
15 minutes Sharing Time

Walking Field Trips
Walking field trips are implemented into the program when appropriate and weather-permitting. Family members are welcome to join us! Preschool classes have experienced the following field trips in the past:
  • Issaquah Salmon Hatchery
  • Issaquah Library
  • Eastside Fire & Rescue
  • Flying Pie Pizzeria
  • Front Street Market
  • Issaquah Senior Center
  • Issaquah History Museums
